Jinling High School was founded in 1888 and given the historic name of Fowler Biblical School.  The school was affiliated with Jinling University and No. 10 Middle School. Having restored its original name in 1988, it is a key school in Jiangsu, honored as a provincial and national “model school”. It is also one of the famous national model schools in China.

In the past century, over a thousand graduates have been groomed, among whom are hundreds of eminent people, such as people’s educationalist Tao Xingzhi, the master architect, designer of Dr. Sun Yat-sen’ts Mausoleum Lv Yanzhi, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and former honorary chairman of its core scholar’s presidium, the famous thermo physicist engineer Wu Zhonghua, the famous economists Wu Jinglian and Li Yining, the biologist Fu Xinyuan, the young leader of Differential Coefficient Geometry Tian Gang, and member of The Chinese Academy of Science Qi Kang. The school is hence widely acclaimed as a “cradle for the elite”.

 

The school enjoys a central location in the Municipality, boasting a beautiful campus of 50,000 square meters.  The school is well equipment and staffed with 160 well-qualified teachers, among whom there are 89 senior teachers and 6 provincial honored special grade teachers.

 

In all pursuits and daily interactions, Jinling High students are reminded not only of the importance of their academy study and responsibilities to the community, but also of the full achievements of their life. We provide numerous opportunities for the students to improve their abilities.  Of the 5 projects recognized by the nation for the “Star of China Airspace” competition, all were created by Jinling High students.

 

In the new century, Jinling High will carry forward its tradition and further its reforms through explorations and renovations.  We are building a pattern with Jinling High’s characteristics of higher level educational achievements. The University is heading towards a comprehensive, research-oriented and internationalized world-class university which will contribute to the great revitalization of China.
