亲爱的老师们、同学们 大家好

Dear teachers and fellow students, Good morning!

我们来自模拟联合国社团，今天国旗下讲话的题目是拥有世界梦想。 We are delegates from the Model United Nations Club. Today the topic we are going to talk about is “having a world dream”.               

“让我们共同缔造一个更美好的世界。”这是来自联合国的大声疾呼。在全球化的今天，这句话显得格外有力。"Let’s build a better world together." This is the intension of the United Nations. In the era of globalization, these words are extraordinarily powerful.

在过去的一年中，模拟联合国的经历让我们对这个世界的认识更加深刻，它让我们体验到一份沉甸甸的责任感，给予了我们坚持不懈的恒心，但最重要的是，它让我们明白了我们这一代人共同的梦想与追求In the past year, the experience of MUN has given us deeper understanding of the world. It allows us to experience a sense of responsibility, to learn about perseverance, but most importantly, we now understand better the common dreams and pursuit of our generation.

同一个世界，同一个梦想。这是2008年北京奥运会的口号，也是每一个拥有世界梦想的人的心声：让这个世界没有贫穷，没有饥饿，没有战争。One World, One Dream. This is the slogan of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, but also the voice of the ones who have international dreams: to make a world with no poverty, no hunger, and no war.

当我们在每天中午大快朵颐的时候，在非洲，却仍有无数的难民被饿死，或是吃着别人吃剩的食物；When we enjoy lunch every day, in Africa there are many refugees dying of hunger or eating leftovers;

当我们每天背着书包上学的时候，在中国西部，却仍有那么多的孩子无法拥有一个学习的机会；when we go to school every day there are so many children in western China who do not have a chance to study;

当某一天我们安心地小憩时，在汶川、在玉树、在缅甸、在海地、在马来群岛，却仍有数以万计无辜的人民被地震、被海啸、被飓风、被洪水夺去了生命；when we have a rest, in Wenchuan, in Yushu, in Myanmar, in Haiti, in Malaysia, there are thousands of lives of innocent people claimed by earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and floods;

当我们过着和平安定的生活时，在伊拉克、在阿富汗、在索马里、在苏丹、在南奥塞梯，却仍有数都数不清的人民饱受战火的折磨。when we have peaceful and harmony lives, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Somalia, in Sudan, in South Ossetia, there are countless people tortured by war.

看到这些，难道你还会无动于衷吗？Knowing these, can you remain unmoved?

修女特雷萨倾其一生精力帮助弱者，她无力改变全世界的黑暗，就努力使身边的地方变得光明；Mother Teresa devoted her whole lifetime to help the weak. She could not change the world of darkness, but strove to brighten the space around her;

无国界医生们不分种族、宗教、信仰和政治立场，为身处困境的人们以及天灾人祸和武装冲突的受害者而奔波劳累，甚至不顾自己的生命安全；Doctors Without Borders who, regardless of race, religion, beliefs and political position, work hard for people in distress and victims of natural disasters and armed conflicts, regardless of their own safety.

而金中毕业的学姐高宇捷和谭可宁目前也在孟加拉国学习小额贷款，以此帮助更多身处贫困中的人们。Gao Yujie and Tan Kening who graduated from Jingling High School are now learning about Microfinance in Bangladesh, in order to help more poor people.

也许我们刚才说的这些都离我们太过遥远，但拥有世界梦想并不是一个乌托邦式的口号，它体现在我们日常的点滴生活中。Maybe what we just said seems too remote, but having world dreams is not a utopian slogan, it is reflected in our daily life.

拥有一个世界梦想，需要我们拥有开阔的胸怀和社会责任感。Having a world dream, we need to have broad minds and the sense of social responsibility.

我们很欣喜的看到我们身边的改变：从志愿者行动到赈灾晚会，从模拟联合国到议会制辩论，这些无不体现着我们金中人不断增长的胸怀以及社会责任感。We are delighted to see the changes around us: from the volunteer work to the party for disaster relief, from the Model United Nations to the parliamentary debate, which all reflect the growing of our mind, and social responsibility of the students at Jinling High School.

我们相信，世界的未来掌握在我们这一代人的手中，让我们共同创造一个更美好的世界。We believe that the future of the world is in the hands of our generation. Let us create a better world together!
